So I tried......

So here is my story for today.

As most of you know I am not a morning person. So me trying to be a better mom. I go to Wal-Mart and buy the Jiff muffin mixes. This is my way of being a good mom. Make something hot with lots of sugar instead of something cold with milk and more sugar. So I get up earlier than I usually do mix the muffins and bake them. All with about 3 min to spare before they have to head of to school. I am thinking wow I have time to spare. They can actually eat it at the bar rather than walking and eating on the way to school. For me this is a perk. As I am pulling the muffins out of the oven my kids tell me they don't want those they just want cold cereal. Do they understand I had to get up 15 min earlier than normal to mix these hello. So I am just going to be the mom who feeds them the cold cereal. And who rolls out of bed long enough to make sure they had something to eat and thier hair combed and teeth brushed. No more hot muffins for them. Okay so maybe I will try in a while.

Grandma Whiting

Grandma Whiting

Grandma Whiting and all her Great Grankids. What a legacy to be proud of.

Grandma and me at my wedding. Isn;t she just a classy looking lady.

Just a quick update on her. She fell and broke her hip on Mon 18 of Aug night. She had surgery on tues afternoon. She has not really woken up since then.
When I went to see her today she was pretty out of it. She kinda started to wake up. So I started telling her what I did yesterday. I bottled 31 pints of salsa. I also was trying to teach Kelty how to peel the tomatoes. When I told her this she opened her eyes and looked at me and said "oh that is good." Then she went back to her coma like sleep. I feel so honored that she woke up long enough to talk to me one last time.
I think my grandma whiting is the neatest person. I have always looked up to her. Her work ethic is amazing always up early and doing more than I do in a week. And she does it before breakfast. She is one amazing women. She has lived alone for the last 25 years since my grandpa died. She has done it with such class. Asking for very little but giving so much.
I feel that the end for her is very near. She is one special person. I love you grandma. Thanks for the legacy that you left. You left big shoes to fill but thanks for your influence I feel ready to do my best to try and live up to that legacy.

Ears, Ears, and more

This is Jesse and how I spent most of the ride home from Lehman caves. With Jesse wanting to play with my ears. some kids have thier fingers some have silkie things others have blankets. I have the kid that thinks he can't go to bed without playing with mine or Genes ears. Somedays it is so cute. Other days it can be really annoying. Kids gotta love'em

Lehman caves

Jesse, Casey, James and Kelty. At Lehman caves waiting for the tour of the caves to begin. Doesn't Kelty look happy. If you ever have the chance to take your kids down thier it is really cool. Worth the drive to no mans land to see them. When I say no mans land I mean it. The town of Baker Nevada has maybe 80 people.

Gene and me looking so happy. We are just waiting for the tour to begin.

Gene and Jesse in the caves they are loving it.

This is my kids thinking they are funny. The tour guide told us the only thing we could touch was the floor. So here they are touching the only thing they can. You know kids they aren't happy untill they touch something.

Life

I am just having one of those days. Everything that everyone does is driving me crazy. I am so ready for school to start that I know that the only way I am making it through this weekend, is because we are taking the kids camping. I am excited we are going to Lehman caves out on the Utah Nevada border. Gene went here when he was little and said that it is really cool. So we will see. Gene knows the only way I will camp is in my trailer. With me taking a shower everyday. So I went online and found a place that has full hookups. That makes me very happy. And as the old saying goes if Mamma ain't happy ain't nobody happy. Oh how that is so true with me and my little family. Sorry no pictures today maybe some after the weekend camping.
Have a great weekend and we will be blogging again Sunday night, when I am back to civilization.

Spoiled Rotten Kids........

Today we had a family reunion up in Heber. (For those of you who don't know Heber is about 45 mins from my house). This is the way my kids looked both going and coming. I can't believe how spoiled they are. They think that anytime we get in the car it is time to either play games or watch a movie. Oh well I am still sorta kinda sane. Okay so maybe that is putting it nicely that I am still sane but whatever keeps the kids happy. Right I love this picture of Jess cause he is so inthralled with the movie that he doesn't even know we are in the car. Oh the joys of being a kid nowadays. They have it so easy:)

Blast from the past

I was sitting outside today. When my neighbor walked over and said I bet you know who is in this picture. So when I looked I about died it is from my senior year in high school when I took woodshop.

The story goes that I thought that I was so smart when I was a sophmore to sign up for a class that had no girls just me. I was thinking I was pretty smart. Well then I had to open my big mouth and say something and here is what is the result of that. Six girls in my same woodshop class. Somehow my plan didn't turn out quite as well as I had planned. Oh well the high school life what can I say. Oh yeah I know glad its over with.

People in the picture are Angie Orton, Sydney Carnessecca, Beth Clayton, Me, Makell Leathem, Mary Roberts.

Disclaimer: Last names are as they where in the picture not as they are now

UBIC Days

James and Easton just being boys and doing what they do best. PLAYING

Jesse and The Alien. Sometimes I
wonder about the things my kids
talk my into buying them???????

This is Kelty's best friend Makell. They lived across the street from us. From the time the girls where 1 until they where 8 it was a very sad day when they left. But we are so glad that do kinda live close so we can see them every once in a while.

I took my kids and went to my friends house in Roosevelt this weekend. For what is called UBIC Days. Which stands for Unitah Basin In Celebration. It was really fun. The playing at the park with the all the vendors the parade. And for me and Tracy it would be the staying up until 3 in the morning cause we just can't seem to shut up:) For those of you that no me and Tracy you will so agree on this point. We have had a blast out here. We have kids that are the same age. Ususally they play so well together. Kelty is getting so big that we actually left her and Makell to tend all the younger kids so we could go see Mamma Mia in vernal. We had so much fun with it. Kelty and Makell I don;t think had quite as much fun as we did. Jesse ended up pooping his pants (it was a bad one all up his back). Luckily Troy(Tracy's husband) happened to come home for a few min. before he was of to play with his guy friends and took pity on the girls and changed Jesse. I think I owe Troy big time for that one. So anyway here are a few of the pix that I took this weekend. Gene was nice enough to stay home and work so that me and the kids could play this weekend. Always willing to take one for the team huh Gene.
